Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and community development, SM Hotels & Conventions Corporation (SMHCC)-managed property, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, has recently kicked-off the Basic Food and Beverage Operations Training Program in partnership with the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory. The initiative equips Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) with practical hospitality skills to help prepare them for meaningful employment and successful reintegration into society.

Held at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory, the launch brought together representatives from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Quezon City local government, SMHCC, and Radisson Hotel Group, reflecting a shared commitment to creating opportunities through skills development and collaboration.

The event commenced with the introduction of the Basic Food and Beverage Operations Training, followed by welcome remarks from Reycie Gutierrez, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, and an inspirational message from Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, who emphasized the importance of providing second chances through education and livelihood initiatives.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, SMHCC Senior Vice President for Operations Cathy Nepomuceno, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA General Manager Reycie Gutierrez, Jail Warden of the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory Maria Lourdes Pacion, and Regional Director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology JCSUPT Baby Noel Montalvo.

Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA welcomed the holiday season with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on November 19, themed “Stay Merry, Shine Bright.” The event brought together hotel partners, community leaders, and guests for an evening of warmth and celebration.

General Manager Reycie Gutierrez opened the program with a message of unity and highlighted the hotel’s holiday advocacy: Php200 from every room booking will be donated to support children undergoing treatment at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center’s cancer centers.

The ceremonial lighting was led by Elizabeth Sy, President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC); Cathy Nepomuceno, Senior Vice President for Operations, SMHCC; Councilor Nikki Crisologo of Quezon City; and GM Reycie Gutierrez. Uplifting performances by Arman Ferrer and the UP Singing Ambassadors added to the festive mood. The Quezon City Jail Dorm for Women also showcased their handcrafted products, supporting the livelihood of women artisans.
