SM Hotels’ flagship property in the north advances inclusive hospitality with F&B training for PDLs

Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and community development, SM Hotels & Conventions Corporation (SMHCC)-managed property, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, has recently kicked-off the Basic Food and Beverage Operations Training Program in partnership with the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory. The initiative equips Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) with practical hospitality skills to help prepare them for meaningful employment and successful reintegration into society.

Held at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory, the launch brought together representatives from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Quezon City local government, SMHCC, and Radisson Hotel Group, reflecting a shared commitment to creating opportunities through skills development and collaboration.

The event commenced with the introduction of the Basic Food and Beverage Operations Training, followed by welcome remarks from Reycie Gutierrez, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, and an inspirational message from Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, who emphasized the importance of providing second chances through education and livelihood initiatives.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, SMHCC Senior Vice President for Operations Cathy Nepomuceno, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA General Manager Reycie Gutierrez, Jail Warden of the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory Maria Lourdes Pacion, and Regional Director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology JCSUPT Baby Noel Montalvo.
